New York City Reading-Sunday June 3rd

I’ll be drinking, reading and signing (in that order) at Central Bar this Sunday, June 3rd, from 7-9pm. Central Bar is located at 109 East 9th Street between 3rd and 4th ave. Here’s a link to their website. Apparently there’s an ATM available downstairs. Please be respectful to their neighbors.

Just finished reading about 2/3 of Charlie Schroeder’s new book ‘Man of War’ (and especially Chapter Four; Wings of the Shire” about our winged hussar group). His humorous parallels had me laughing so hard that I nearly pissed my pants and laughter causing tears running down my cheeks at his initial description(s) of me even before we ever met, and then afterward. Charlie has paid such meticulous attention to detail, that, until now, I don’t think anybody else (besides myself) has so succinctly described what I am about and what makes me ‘tick’ in regard to my ‘why’ of being a re-enactor, given all the other areas of my life that have made me who I am. Some of it may re-annoy some of the other Pol-Am winged hussar re-enactors, but so what…They either ‘get it’ or they don’t by now.
Especially my Face Book friends and fans; do yourselves a favor; until *my* book comes out, I advocate and HIGHLY suggest going out to get a copy of his book and absorbing it. Truly, it will fill in a little-known backstory of how and why I got into re-enacting from heavy metal rock. Charlie has painted a generous portrait of who Rik Fox the rocker-re-enactor is…I am honored to be a part of his book. May it hit the top of the NY Times best-seller list.
ALL re-enactors will LOVE this book, RUN, don’t walk, to get your copy! Do it NOW!
